About Maddie
Hi, I’m Maddie—a mother, wife, and passionate Pilates instructor. I’ve been teaching Pilates for over a decade in Hobart and Melbourne. My Pilates journey began in my early twenties, right on the mat in the Fahan School hall (ironically, I now return to this hall often with my daughter, who attends Fahan!).
At the time, I was struggling with my usual exercise routine—dealing with shin splints and lower back pain. I knew I needed something that would help me find better alignment and a deeper connection with my body. That’s when I discovered Pilates, and it completely changed my life. Soon after, I tried reformer Pilates, and I was hooked. It became my go-to workout, transforming not just my body but my mind-body connection in ways I never expected.
Inspired by these changes, I pursued my Pilates teacher training in both mat and reformer—and I haven’t looked back since. I’ve had the privilege of working in some amazing studios across Hobart and Melbourne. Moving to Melbourne in 2017 was a game-changer for me personally and professionally. My time teaching at One Hot Yoga and Sum of Us was pivotal, allowing me to work alongside incredible instructors and physiotherapists who shaped the teacher and motivator I am today.
Returning to Hobart in the middle of the pandemic was challenging, to say the least. Transitioning to Zoom mat Pilates classes was an adjustment, but it also reignited my love for mat work and its powerful benefits. I felt stronger, more aligned, and more connected to my practice than ever—especially after becoming a mum. Since then, I’ve taught at the beautiful Happi Studio (where you’ll still find me covering reformer classes), explored a brief stint in recruitment, and welcomed another gorgeous little human into our family.
And now? Through all these experiences, I’ve discovered that my true calling is to help and motivate others to feel their best—inside and out. I’m beyond excited to bring mat Pilates to South Hobart in the gorgeous hall beneath St Francis Xavier’s Church (corner of Adelaide Street and Anglesea Street). My classes are all about helping you connect with your mind and body, move in ways that nourish your soul, and share space with like-minded people who want to feel their best.
You’ll leave each session feeling energised—physically, mentally, and emotionally. Pilates is a holistic experience, and I can’t wait to share its benefits with you.
